Alkaloid Receives Recognition at the State Archives’ 75th Anniversary

This year, the State Archives of Macedonia marks 75 years since its establishment, a significant milestone that reaffirms its vital role in safeguarding, preserving, and promoting the country’s national history and cultural heritage.

Founded on April 1, 1951, by a decree of the then Government of the People’s Republic of Macedonia, the State Archives has, over the decades, evolved into one of the fundamental pillars of Macedonian identity and cultural heritage.

At a formal ceremony marking the jubilee, the Director of the State Archives, Dimitar Bogeski, emphasized that the 75th anniversary since the institution’s establishment is not simply a figure but a testament to the enduring work and commitment of generations of archivists and employees. He further stressed the important role of the Archives as a custodian of the country’s memory and identity.

On this occasion, commemorative plaques were awarded to several entities across the country, including Alkaloid. The Certificate of Appreciation for ongoing support and contribution to the development and promotion of the State Archives was received on behalf of Alkaloid by its Chief Executive Officer and MB President, Zhivko Mukaetov.

Mukaetov emphasized that the Archives represents far more than a repository of documents, but a living testament to a country’s existence, continuity, and identity. He noted that during recent research into the origins of Alkaloid’s documentation, they witnessed first-hand the remarkable value of the materials preserved by the State Archives, highlighting the institution’s exceptionally rich historical and documentary legacy.

The State Archives carries out its activities through nine regional units and nine regional archives, safeguarding around 8,000 archival fonds, equivalent to nearly nine kilometers of archival records.
